Sudowoodo – Pokémon TCG Highlander

Pre Evolution:

Form Change:

Mimicking lethal attacks is already a threat. Paired with reliable damage and disruption, smart opponent’s know to constantly keep tabs on Sudowoodo’s presence.

Strategy Points:

  • The combination of “Mimic” and “Watch and Learn” creates a threat for the opponent to constantly stay aware of for what Attacks they use. With an Eviolite, Assault Vest, or Stone Energy, Sudowoodo will stay well protected on the Bench, waiting for an opportunity to return high damage for often less work.
  • You can use Dugtrio and Leafy Camo Pancho for even more protection. Dugtrio allows for Sudowoodo to take a more offensive approach with a Pokémon Tool, like Choice Band and Fighting Fury Belt.
  • EXP. Share is a great Pokémon Tool for Sudowoodo. Maintaining the momentum of your Energy on the board allows for a quick retaliation with “Watch and Learn”.
  • Rainbow, Aurora, and other Multi Type Energy cards are perfect for Sudowoodo, allowing it to easily copy a wide range of Attacks without waiting to retaliate.
  • Damage modifiers from Strong Energy, Fighting Stadium, Grant, Quagsire, and Stonjourner serve as a way for Sudowoodo to return an Attack for even more damage than what the opponent worked for.
  • With Bonsly: “Roadblock” forces the Opponent to only have four Benched Pokémon max. If you use a Stadium like Sky Field, they will still be locked at four max. “Territorial Reply” creates a new handful of tricks and board control, especially when paired with Switch, Escape Rope, Zoroark, and/or Solgaleo.
  • With Sudowoodo – Level X: Path Block creates strong lock situations, especially paired with bench pulling effects like Lysandre/Guzma, Pokémon Catcher and “Territorial Reply”. You can use this to stop a Pokémon that does a lot of damage while copying the Attack before they even use it.
  • You can use “Tree Crush” to do fast damage for one Energy and take Prize Cards from Not Fully Evolved Pokémon as soon as turn 2. The attack doing 120 damage before modifiers to Pokémon weak to Grass and Fighting provides a lot of opportunities to help in matchups where the majority of your team might be weak to those types.
  • The discard “negative” from not Knocking Out a Pokémon with Tree Crush can serve as a positive for Pokémon like Hippowdon, Coalossal, and Regirock.
