Form Change:

Mew brings amazing pace control to Highlander that will have your team prospering from solid walling. consistency, support, and a wide range of attacks to copy from.

Strategy Points:

  • “Neutral Shield” provides great defensive coverage against a rough average of 66% of a player’s Pokémon lineups per deck. Making a Mew a gamelong threat should you quickly fetch it from the deck or discard pile.
    • For Mill, Benched, and “Writing on the Wall” win condition decks, you can run Team Yell Towel and Picnic Basket to help heal your opponent’s Pokemon (and Mew), creating more longevity and potentially reactivating this Poké-Body.
    • Eviolite and Swoobat’s “Wave Amplification” swiftly dial up the defensive pressure against your opponent here. You can also run Horror Energy to dial up the punishment on your opponent’s Pokémon.
  • “Psychic Balance” has a wide range of cards you can draw, from zero to ten. But you can expect a minimum average of around three to four cards. Regardless, the new cards you draw will have shuffle armor.
    • You can run Sky Field and Captivating Poké Puff or Mawile’s “Captivating Wink” to potentially draw up to 16 cards.
    • You can run Challenge! to maximize the benefit of both you and your opponent filling out your bench.
  • “Re-creation” has the ability to copy any attack in your discard pile. Making Mew a lethal threat in terms of shortcutting potential work your opponent might have to put in compared to you using these attacks.
    • You can run Weavile, Tsareena, and Delinquent to discard Pokémon early in the game. Causing disruption and then allowing Mew to copy those attacks.
      • Gumshoos “Searching the Premises” will grant you intel and allow you to choose when you randomly discard cards.
    • A Z-Crystal is great with Mew. It will make the copied attack even stronger. Or it will add a double poison effect to the Defending Pokémon that doesn’t leave the board until they might. This also works well with “Psychic Balance.”
  • Mew – Level X:
  • “Vast Void Versatility” is a great Poké-Body that grants Mew – Level X a lot of options. Veteran player, Stephen Elmore, has demonstrated the power of sending cards like Lysandre/Guzma or attackers like Regigigas or Ho-oh to copy throughout the game that pair well with Mirage Gate and Colress’s Experiment.
    • Using a Lysandre or Guzma, each turn can win games for mill decks that can now bench-pull each turn for their supporter play.
  • “Energy Relativity” will get Mew any Energy you want that is in the Lost Zone. This allows for quick “Re-Creation” plays and/or any attack you want when you use cards like Rainbow or Aurora Energy.
