Marowak – Pokémon TCG Highlander

When push comes to shove, Marowak brings a pushback of high-damaging attacks and great insurance of protection for the player.

Strategy Points:

• “Bodyguard” provides protection for you and your hand by your opponent’s Pokémon. This includes effects like Talonflame’s “Devastating Wind” and Seismitoad’s “Quaking Punch.”
  • This also includes protection from hand discarding effects, which can help for hyper offensive/brute force high damage strategies.
• “Heavy Bone” does great damage for one Energy. You can easily reset drawback effect with retreating and switching.
  • Strong Energy is great at boosting Regular Marowak’s damage, Cherrim’s “Sunny Day” is great for damage boosting Alolan Marowak. Quagsire’s “Saturation” can be used for either of them.
• “Bone Impact” pairs well with Fighting Stadium for Regular Marowak and Altar of the Sunne for Alolan Marowak.
  • “Scorched Earth” and “Stark Mountain” are great options for both for both forms of Marowak. Allowing you to use their effects before discarding them for higher damage.
  • Roseanne’s Backup, Guzma & Hala, Stadium Nav, and Gothitelle’s “Teleport Room” are great options to quickly get a Stadium card ready for the 60 bonus damage.
• Cubone’s “Focus Energy” creates a drastic sense of urgency for the opponent if they don’t want to receive 80 damage next turn. Just note that you can’t evolve and maintain the damage boost if Marowak has access to “Beat.”
• Marowak BREAK:
• 140 HP is a great trait paired with “Bodyguard.”  You can quickly heal the BREAK Evolution damage and get back to the bench with “Mallow & Lana.”
• “Bone Revenge” will already do 100 damage if only two prize cards have been taken by your opponent. With a base of 180 damage ready on two prize cards left, Marowak BREAK can be a late game cleaner.
