When it comes to great hand locking and high damage potential, Exeggutor pushes the envelope on both fronts for one Energy or less.
Strategy Points:
“Psychic/Dragon Strategy” is a highly distinct attack that will swap the hand count of both players. Creating a favorable scenario by spending a lot of resources to get down to a possible hand of zero and get a possible new one thanks to your opponent.
Playing N or Iono early game will grant you a five to six card hand at the end of your turn.
Night Teleporter has great synergy with this attack. After getting any one card you need, you can set your opponent to having a zero card hand going into their turn.
Alcremie and Lunatone – Level X both have Poké-Bodies that will further hinder your opponent’s card numbers overall.
With “Z-Psychic/Dragon Strategy”, the opponent will either have board pressure from double Poison that won’t leave, or a six card mill that could potentially get rid of the cards they were just holding onto for next turn.
“Blockade” is a great disruptive attack that can lock the opponent out of playing Supporter cards next turn.
While “Psychic/Dragon Strategy” is a great previous move to use into this one, you can also use Red Card, Judge, or Talonflame’s “Devastating Wind” to set your opponent to a four card hand before attacking.
Swoobat’s “Wave Amplification” will bolsters Regular Exeggutor’s Defense while locking the opponent, while Altaria’s “Fight Song” will bolster Alolan Exeggutor’s Attack.
Getting a Knock Out with this attack is already a great asset for game momentum. Using Wyrdeer’s “Hurried Gate” increases that momentum with two drawn cards after attacking with regular Exeggutor.
Kabutops – Level X’s “Ancient Canal System” allows for Alolan Exeggutor with a Basic Dragon Energy to pivot to the bench after using this attack. Regular Exeggutor can as well if it has a Water Energy attached to it. Switching into Stoutland, Trevenant, Spiritomb, or Kabutops – Level X will further increase the locking power of this attack.
Devoured Field and Dragon Talon will further increase the damage potential for Alolan Exeggutor. While Horror Energy and Miasma Valley for Regular Exeggutor can instill a lot of damage counters on the board for non-Psychic Pokémon.
“Super Eggsplosion” creates an opportunity for high damage paired with any type of energy attached to your Pokémon.
Rayquaza, Walrein, Moltres, Regirock, Skuntank, Naganadel, Azumarill, Hippowdon, Arcanine, Yanmega, Electivire, Forretress, Musharna, and Floatzel all have Poké-Powers that accelerate Basic Energy.
Victini, Glimwood Tangle, Will, Trick Coin, Maractus, Sandaconda, and Jirachi – Level X all can help your coin flip results for potentially high damage.
Exeggutor – Level X:
“Balance of Nature” serves as a reliable replacement for any Supporter you play to become a hand reset for you and your opponent. This can especially alter the game if your opponent only has one to two prize cards left.
“Helio Harvest” provides a great way to accelerate Energy and Pokémon Tool Cards from your Discard Pile. 1-of cards like V Guard Energy, Assault Vest, Float Stone and Fighting Fury Belt can be easily rotated back onto your board to grant great momentum.
Using Battle Compressor, Viridian Forest, Ultra Ball, and Quick Ball can be a fast way to get crucial Energy and Pokémon Tool cards into your Discard Pile, while granting their own respective boosts of consistency.
