Ditto makes a statement right out of the gate with an imposing reflection of your opponent’s current strategy. By pushing Ditto’s additional attributes to what it copies, you can quickly get a game-winning edge upon arrival.
Strategy Points:
“Ditto DNA” is a distinct effect in Highlander that rewards preparation, broad or specific. A decent range of fully evolved Pokémon have Colorless costing attacks. Allowing for Double Colorless Energy to cover a wide range, especially with paired with a Prism, Rainbow, or Aurora Energy.
If your opponent turns off Poke-Bodies, you will appreciate prepared defensive strategies with the two Pokémon Tool cards mentioned before. You can still use “Stick On”
“Dittobolic” is effective right when you play Ditto down. While your opponent prepares (or doesn’t) for what Ditto can copy, they now have to with a reduced bench size.
If you run this with Sky Field, the opponent still can only have a max bench size of 4. Granting you a huge potential benefit in numbers compared to your opponent.
“Sick On” is always available for Ditto, even when it transforms into the Defending Pokémon. Allowing you to accumulate Energy from your hand or discard pile that you prepared for in broad or specific scenarios.
You can use Battle Compressor to discard specific Energy, like Rainbow or Multi, to then attach to Ditto with this attack.
The 10 damage from this attack serves as a great opportunity for you to look for a Knock Out with this attack, granting huge momentum for next turn. You can attach Splash or Rescue Energy to potentially recycle Ditto swiftly if it gets Knocked Out.
Ditto – Level X:
“X Powder Protection” is a blunt defensive effect that creates mirror matching pressure on your opponent. Whichever Pokémon they promote, Ditto – Level X will have more HP and defense (unless the Defending Pokémon is also modified.)
“Collective Coding” can turn the tides of the game in your favor with one use. It comes down to your opponent’s EX count, with Ditto getting free Energy attachments for each one.
The before mentioned Energy are all great options overall, you can also run a plethora of offensive Energy like Strong, Powerful, and Special Darkness to add even more damage for what attack you copy (or for “Stick On.”)
