From total protective healing to Supporter mimicry, Chimecho is a great Pokemon to play when needed. With a threatening presence to punish Energy attachments, Chimecho’s concert will have opponent’s at the edge of their seats.
Strategy Points:
- “Chime” might seem like it only is effective later in the game. But competent opponent’s will most likely keep a desired Supporter in their opening hand, you can get a lot of collective momentum and deck information from the get-go.
- “Heal Bell” serves as the perfect attack for healing up to 60 damage on your side while providing a crucial turn to where your opponent can’t take damage. You can use Butterfree, Serperior, and Nidoqueen to amplify this healing even more.
- “Super Psywave” provides an easy problem solving solution for an opponent that begins to build up a big attacker or retreats an injured one. It also becomes a way the achieve fast damage on any Defending Pokémon that continues to pile up on energy.
- With Chingling
- “Negative Resonance” provides an easy and lethal way to punish the opponent for playing a Supporter card. Since both Supporters and Pokémon-EX show up so frequently in the average game, protecting Chimecho with Bench Shield or Leafy Camo Poncho can become game winning for the amount of spread damage done over time.
- Having a spread attacker like Dusknoir or Espeon puts a lot of pressure onto the opponent as “Negative Resonance” piles up even more damage. Running Moonlight Stadium allows for easy pivots into Chimecho for Heal Bell plays when needed.
- “Rondo Recital” has a hidden edge to it by taking advantage of 1-of Supporters like Guzma/Lysandre and Serena from your opponent’s Discard Pile multiple times.
- If your opponent purposefully withholds Supporter cards to counter Chimecho, you can use Raticate or Weavile to punish them while gaining access for future “Rondo Recital” plays.
