Form Change:

Amazing going first, second, midgame, and late, Kangaskhan arrives at Highlander with tremendous support, sustainability, and options for reliable or high-risk-high-reward damage, providing great generalized effectiveness for your team.

Strategy Points:

  • “Fetch” serves as a great way to accumulate resources with a Trainer or Basic Energy Card of your choice. You can grab 1-of cards like Fighting Fury Belt or Float Stone for Kangaskhan going into your next turn.
    • You can grab Professor’s Letter instead of a Basic Energy Card to potentially double the amount you get.
    • “Z-Fetch” creates a great early game scenario where you get Energy acceleration and 8 cards with shuffle armor.
  • “Split Spiral Punch” alerts opponents that go first. With the threat of a Basic Energy + Double Colorless Energy double attachment for the player going second. Regardless, the guaranteed Confusion inflicted on Pokémon will cause a lot of pressure and disruption for the opponent.
    • Malamar will lock out the Defending Pokémon from attacking all together. Pair with Galvantula and you can create a continuous string of Confusion-based pressure.
  • “Comet Punch” is a soft check for Pokémon that go for sweeping plays with three Energy or higher.
    • Tentacruel, Eneporter, and Slowking all provide great ways to further increase the Energy count on the Defending Pokémon.
  • With Mega Kangaskhan:
  • “Parental Bond” has “Split Spiral Punch” hitting for a total of 120 damage if you decide to discard all of your attached Energy.
    • “Comet Punch” easily has the chance to Knock Out the average Highlander Pokémon with at least three Energy attached to them.
    • Non-damaging attacks like “Fetch”, “Evolutor“, and “Devolutor” can be used twice here for one to zero Energy. Double “Fetch” will grant you up to six cards with shuffle armor.
  • Because of “Mega Buff”, “Comet Punch” can deal 120 damage to Pokémon with only two Energy attached to them, before the option of “Parental Bond.”
