If you’re okay with 50 damage heading your way with no escape route, then kick back and relax! Playing Snorlax is another story though, you’ll find strong offense and defense with an edge of disruption capable of pushing limits with Trainer, Supporter, Stadium and Special Energy cards.
Strategy Points:
- “Bad Sleeping Habits” creates a layer of worry for the opponent with whoever they have active. You can use Wigglytuff and Venusaur to guarantee self-inflicted Sleep onto Snorlax while also giving it to the Defending Pokémon. A Double Colorless Energy and/or Eviolite will combo with Venusaur’s “Miracle Aroma” here.
- “Toss and Turn” is a great way to do 50 damage for just 1 Double Colorless Energy. All of the previously listed combos aim with this attack in mind.
- “Heavy Press” is a great goal to reach should the opportunity present itself. If they’re not already knocked out by 90 damage, they are prone to being stuck thanks to “Bad Sleeping Habits”. Snorlax is versatile for the amount of damage modifiers it can have here: PlusPower, Strong Energy, Special Darkness Energy, Fighting Fury Belt, Altaria and Dodrio – Level X all can quickly allow this attack to take knock outs on 90+ HP Pokémon.
- With Munchlax
- “Bedhead” not only provides a crucial +20 for your attacks to get a knock out, but as a way to tack on damage for disruptive plays with “Bad Sleeping Habits” that keep Pokémon locked into the Active Spot. There are turns you can use an Emergency Attachment instead of attacking if you see the opponent most likely stuck next turn.
- “Super Sized Appetite” allows for quick Energy Acceleration from the deck. Being able to grab a Double Colorless or Triple Acceleration Energy for a quick “Toss and Turn” is great, but you can also use Xatu to move the Asleep Special Condition over to the Defending Pokémon. You can also use Windup Arm or Aromatic Energy to use “Heavy Press” afterward.
- With Snorlax – Level X
- “Big Appetite” provides a reliable way to draw cards, with Snorlax on the front lines. Take advantage of your high HP and disruption with cards like Potion, Enhanced Hammer, and Defender to keep the momentum rolling.
- “Exercise” works well with “Big Appetite” and keeps Snorlax healthy. There is a plethora of Pokémon that appreciate the mass discard, a few combos include:
- – (Water) Avalugg and Starmie
- – (Fighting) Avalugg and Tyrogue
- – (Fire) Typhlosion and Arcanine
- – (Psychic) Typhlosion and Musharna
- – Basculegion can shuffle in all of the basic Energy cards while Sandslash can quickly retrieve them.
