Mr. Mime – Pokémon TCG Highlander

Pre Evolution:

Form Change:

A wall that punishes you for doing nothing and doing too much is quite a marvel of engineering. Mr. Mime arrives to Highlander with an in-character myriad of walls that keeps strong firepower at the ready.

Strategy Points:

  • “Airy Wall” provides Mr. Mime a 50% chance of surviving any attack unless a Pokémon has 2 or more Energy attached. Using Pokémon like Slowking and Krookodile along with cards like Enhanced Hammer and Team Flare Grunt makes your opponent scrap for resources to use an attack that might not land.
  • The built in safety measure that “Focus Wall” provides creates a level of assurance as you build your board and your opponent dedicates their resources to to not overextend past a 60 damage threshold.
  • Mr. Mime being a Basic Fairy Type Pokémon allows for Eviolite, Fairy Garden, and Fairy Drop to be used together to amplify your defensive pivot plays. With Pokémon like Granbull and Tapu Fini, you can switch into Mr. Mime as you gain apply damage to your opponent’s board.
  • “Desperate Slap” provides a lethal edge of retaliation if your opponent cannot KO Mr. Mime. The only requisite is that Mr. Mime needs 5 damage counters on it, cards like Defender, Fighting Fury Belt and Shield Energy.
  • With Mime Jr.
  • “Bench Barrier” makes it more difficult for the opponent to work around an active Mr. Mime. But bringing Mr. Mime to the bench makes for its own obstacle on the opponent. Stacking this with Mr. Mime’s other Poké-Bodies creates a protective fortress for your team.
  • “Trick Reveal” grants you crucial intel on your opponent that will often expend a lot of resources towards taking down Mr. Mime. This Poké-Power allows you to prepare for potentially high damage plays with Noctowl and Polteageist.
  • With Mr. Mime – Level X
  • The timing window for “Fortification Installation” is rewarding for reading the current and future game state. The early game tends to not have 40+ damage attacks each turn. Using this Poké-Power for a game winning set up by protecting Haxorus or Kommo-o are strategies worth practicing.
  • “Prop Improv” allows for you to stack multiple beneficial Pokémon Tool Cards like Eviolite, Fighting Fury Belt, Assault Vest and Float Stone. You can use Greedent to reliably retrieve new Tool Cards while Mismagius provides a final high damage out if Mr. Mime is looking to be knocked out soon.
