Roserade – Pokémon TCG Highlander

Pre Evolutions:

One drop of Poison is all it takes for Roserade to knockout a majority of Pokémon in Highlander. Add bench damage and Poison retaliation to the mix and you have one dangerous Pokémon.

Strategy Points:

  • There are a lot of ways to use Poison on demand: Venusaur, Ariados, Amoongus, Salazzle and Koga’s Trap are great ways to maximize the damage of “Deep Poison”.
  • You can run Virbank City Gym, Weezing, and Shiinotic to amplify Poison damage even more. Even if “Deep Poison” is already KOing the Defending Pokémon, you could use Bowed Whip and disrupt the Bench if Poison will already provide a Knockout.
  • You can use Hit and Run attacks from Pokémon like Dunsparce, Uxie, and Seviper to then promote Roserade as punishment with “Hidden Poison”. With the previously mentioned effects that amplify Poison damage, the Opponent might end up passing their turn.
  • With Budew: “Infected Enzyme” completely halts Pokémon with Special Conditions from attacking Roserade. Use the previous mentioned combos to create strong board control, all while using “Bowed Whip” to disrupt or Roselia’s “Speed Growth” attack to accelerate Energy for your Pokémon.
  • Budew’s “Energy Signal” allows for a wide option of Special Conditions at your disposal. Using a Rainbow or Blend (Grass/Fire/Psychic/Darkness) Energy inflicts all 4 Special Conditions onto the Defending Pokémon. Combine this with Pokemon like Leafeon and Sneasler to Knockout most Pokemon in the game.
  • Leafeon Level X’s “Energy Forcing” allows for quick streams of these Energy cards to keep the Special Conditions piling up for high damage with “Miasma Wind” or Roserade’s “Deep Poison”.
  • Roselia’s “Thick Skin” will allow Roserade to stay active with Poké-Powers like Wigglytuff’s “Good Night Melody” and Golduck‘s “Chaos Flash” not affecting it if Budew is in the Evolution line.
